Dear Ms ——

Thanks for contacting us about ‘Comic Relief’s Big Chat with Graham Norton’ on BBC Three.

We understand you believe some ‘Sherlock’ fan art was shown without permission from the artists responsible for it during the broadcast on 7 March.

We discussed your concerns with the production team, who explained that they attempted to make repeated contact with each of the artists who featured in this segment of ‘Comic Relief’s Big Chat with Graham Norton’, they provided their contact details and told them the context in which we wanted to use their pictures. If any artist refused their permission then we didn’t feature their work.

The tone of this segment was very much in keeping with Graham’s style of entertainment and no disrespect was intended to any of the artists featured.

Please be assured that your complaint has been registered on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback that’s made available to many BBC staff, including members of the BBC Executive Board, channel controllers and other senior managers.

The audience logs are seen as important documents that can help shape decisions about future programming and content.

Thanks again for taking the time to contact us.

Kind Regards

Considering I know of at least one artist that did not give consent and was upset by the whole thing, this seems to be a brush off. If you are one of the artists could you please contact me so that I can pass it on to the BBC. Thanks

Dirty lies bbc. Dirty fucking lies.
