Glad you guys brought this one to my attention! The plot is so, so bad… and the h/c (so far! I’m on ep 17) is so good. XD
Ahahahah – you ain’t seen nothing yet. There are a couple later “plot twists” that had us literally screaming at the screen…and then there are some h/c moments to come that also had us screaming for completely different reasons. It’s like the perfect storm for fanning: pure id tropes + massive room for improvement…
–It bears noting that the original novel the show is based on is far superior in terms of pacing and plot; it’s being translated here for us poor non-Chinese readers, and if you’re liking the show I’d definitely recommend it. Plus it is explicitly BL (though at least as of through the first half, the emphasis is on the relationship and the story, not the smut). (It also bears noting that both the stars read the novel before even accepting the roles, and it obviously informs a lot of their performances…)
I too, want to fall in love with a guy that I met for like 5 minutes who gave me a lollipop and called me pretty and will remain in love with him for over 10 000 years.
AvenueX pointed out on YouTube (minute 29:00) that eps 14/15 feature a before/after marriage hairstyle change for Zhao YunLan:
“…now they live next door to each other & they are a family. Right after that in episode 15, Zhao YunLan changed his hairstyle. The actor joked that it is a signal for ‘I have found my good friend.’”
