“Go fetch my revolver back.”

I remember seeing a post with like 4,000 notes on it of this picture as a very grainy black and white gif, and they were lamenting the fact that it was the world’s sassiest photo and couldn’t be found in better quality.
I now post this to give you joy.
Their milkshake brings all the boys FROM the Yard.

Finally finished it! Paper dolls are a time-consuming pain in the butt. let me tell you. But I’m so happy with it, and I already want to do a companion Watson one!
And with that, I’d also like to announce that I will be a guest artist and panelist at Sherlock Seattle in January, where I’ll be selling these babies. So you know. You should come.

BBC Radio 4x is having a lot of not-often-broadcast Holmes at the moment, which is a good occasion for any of you who might want to dip your toes in the sea of wonders that is radio drama but never really know where to start! The good thing about beeb radio is that: a. you can tune in no matter…
YES! New stage still-and it’s a big file! The top photo discovery from the stage stills of “The Secret of Sherlock Holmes” at the Wyndham Theatre, is the largest and most high definition photo scan I’ve found on the Internet yet, with the exception of the more well-known second color still below.
These stage stills keep popping out of unknown corners of the Internet, usually out of forums. It’s gotten to the point where I’ve found the majority of the entire Pritchard Archive floating about in the dark corners of cyberspace, in Japanese photography collections, in inactive JB fan forum threads and on archived fansites that went inactive more than 10 years ago.
I do believe my newly discovered top photo is the retrospective in “Secret” where Holmes drops his disguise in Watson’s practice in “The Empty House”, leading up to asking Watson’s forgiveness for disappearing for three years after Reichenbach. It brought me to tears just listening to it after doing the restoration on the sound file, which I posted on my SoundCloud.

YOU REALLY ACTUALLY MEAN I GET TO SEE THE LOST 1916 SHERLOCK HOLMES FILM??????
“The film will be restored for viewing by European and American audiences, under the supervision of film restorer and SFSFF Board President Robert Byrne, who said, ‘It’s an amazing privilege to work with these reels that have been lost for generations. William Gillette’s Sherlock Holmes has ranked among the holy grails of lost film and my first glimpse of the footage confirms Gillette’s magnetism. Audiences are going to be blown away when they see the real Sherlock Holmes on screen for the first time.’”
According to the Cinematheque, “[This] is a complete nitrate duplicate that, to date, appears to be unique. Originally intended for the French operations, it contains duplicate French intertitles, and annotations of hues. The latter feature is still surprising because Essanay films have rarely been exploited in color in the United States. It seems therefore plausible that color version was created specifically for France. [The duplicate] is currently being restored by the French Cinematheque digital and the San Francisco Silent Film Festival, an organization with which we have restored American films of our collections for 2 years now. This restoration is made possible through the generous support of individuals who are passionate about Sherlock Holmes.”

A lesser-known tale about one of the most famous partnerships in crime fiction will be published next month by Walker Books in collaboration with Royal Collection Trust. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s much-loved characters, Sherlock Holmes and his trusty sidekick Dr John H Watson, are bought to life in a book measuring just 38.5 x 30 mm, an exact replica of the hand-written story created by Conan Doyle exclusively for Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House in 1922.

I am SO pumped about finally being able to read this in the tiny original version. This is easily one of my favorite Holmes stories.
