I think if I watch a gif set for literally five minutes, it’s time to reblog it and move on.

for me the scene is so touching, because of the half second that Sherlock takes to answer. And the “yes” he says, instead of “ya”, “yeah” or a snarky remark … he is nervous… and John knows!

Yes, thank you. I absolutely love this scene. You would expect Sherlock to say something like “Well, yes. Of course. Why wouldn’t I be ready, John?” and then make him feel stupid for asking. Sentiment and all that. But instead he glances at John, head lowered and unsure, and says “yes” so gently John would have missed it had he not been listening. And then as soon as that door opens, he holds his head up and stands straight, the usual disinterested look back on his face. This was a freaking beautiful moment. I think it shows how much Sherlock’s grown to trust John. He trusts John not to ridicule him or even comment at all on the fact that the Great Sherlock Holmes is nervous, maybe even a little bit afraid. I just have a lot of feelings about these two.
